AIR has long been a key part of Nike’s DNA. It’s a visible technology that immediately identifies a product as Nike. It is this identity and history that was the starting point and inspiration for the AIR logo refresh. The logo needed to be easily identifiable, legible and technology driven. It needed to evoke to the future of Nike, but also have a bit of nostalgia. Which is why the 90s tech/futuristic creative direction was the perfect starting point. It’s modern and fresh, yet still relatable. There is an element of something familiar mixed with something new. And it is this balance that made the new AIR logo family a success.
